This position performs maintenance and upkeep of athletic fields, facilities and specialty parks. Performs semi-skilled maintenance duties in the following areas: turf management, lining/painting of athletic fields, pest identification, irrigation and/or equipment operation. Provides exceptional customer service to patrons of facilities.
Percentage of work time with associated tasks:
60% Performs routine field maintenance including aerating, mowing, weed-whacking, edging vertical cutting, top dressing, and other duties as required.
20% Performs proper maintenance techniques to ensure safe, playable surfaces including maintaining infield skin, infield lips, base lines, warning tracks, pitching mounds, and home plate areas. Includes regular dragging, screen dragging, watering, mowing edging, and trimming as required or as scheduled.
20% Ensures cleanliness of park grounds, graffiti removal and provides litter pick-up and debris removal.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
HS Diploma or equivalent
Experience in athletic field maintenance, landscape maintenance or closely related field work.
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid FL Drivers license
