Recreation Leader – $17.05/hour

Position Overview:
Under the general supervision of a Recreation Program Coordinator or Community Center Coordinator, the Recreation Leader is responsible for organizing, leading, and overseeing recreational programs and activities at a County facility or park. This is a hands-on, public-facing role that involves both programming and operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and lead recreational programs and activities for participants of all ages
- Instruct classes and coordinate leagues, tournaments, and special events
- Manage facility usage: schedule athletic fields, courts, and rooms
- Collect activity fees, issue receipts, complete financial paperwork, and make deposits
- Handle recreational equipment: receive, store, issue, and maintain
- Assist with maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the facility
- Support clerical tasks including record-keeping and report preparation
- Provide excellent customer service to participants and guests
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience (paid or volunteer) in recreation or leisure programs
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis
Special Requirements:
- Valid Florida Driver’s License (must be maintained throughout employment)
- In the event of an emergency (e.g., hurricane or disaster), full-time employees are expected to perform emergency duties as assigned
