Administrative Specialist III – Stormwater Department

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Administrative Specialist to provide high-level daily support to the Director of Stormwater and all department divisions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, and works well with both internal teams and community partners.
What You’ll Do

Serve as the primary point of contact between the Director, County Administration, local municipalities, and community stakeholders.

Manage executive calendars, calls, meetings, travel, and event coordination.

Prepare presentations, talking points, agenda items, and briefing materials.

Maintain department records, filing systems, and communication tools (SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.).

Coordinate public hearings, legal notices, and community outreach.

Assist with Board of County Commissioners (BCC) agenda processes and HR functions.

Track assignments, deadlines, and performance measures.

Lead special projects, process improvements, and procurement needs.

Support emergency operations during storms or disasters (Department Essential).
What We’re Looking For

Associate degree + 4–6 years administrative experience, OR Bachelor’s degree + 2 years experience, OR Equivalent combination of 6 years education/experience.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Workday.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and work with diplomacy.
