POSITION SUMMARY:
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining a sanitary and orderly medical environment. The position complies with infection control policies, OSHA guidelines, and procedures in executing environmental services duties. The Environmental Services Technician performs the required environmental services activities for the maintenance of a clean surrounding.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•
Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and spot clean floors. Cleans spots off walls.
•
Dusts baseboards, low vents, pictures on the walls and decorations.
•
Gathers and disposes of trash, cleans wastebaskets, lighting fixtures and doorframes throughout the facilities. Cleans air conditioning vents, baseboards, and windowsills.
•
Cleans sinks and other plumbing fixtures; cleans water coolers, microwaves, and replaces disposables such as towels, soaps, and toilet paper. Cleans window coverings and windows. Cleans and polishes mirrors. Dusts top stall partitions.
•
Reports any mechanical failures or negative conditions to the Director or Charge Nurse.
•
Keeps reception areas clean and orderly. Disposes of trash and dirty linen.
•
Pick up debris and trash outside of the healthcare center, including the parking lots and sidewalks.
•
Cleans tables and chairs and returns them to their original location.
•
Empties, wipes, and drie ashtrays. Cleans sand and sift, adding fresh sand daily.
•
Supports the goals and mission of MCR Health.
•
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of, and ability to properly apply codes, rules, regulations and procedures pertaining to area(s) of responsibility
•
Ability to understand and follow MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and their application in the work locations.
