production supervisor

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity standards are met. This role provides leadership to production staff, coordinates workflow, and drives continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production employees during assigned shifts.

• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

• Monitor employee performance, provide training, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.

• Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve production issues.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.

• Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and shift reports.

• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

• Participate in daily production meetings and support cross-functional communication.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

• Strong leadership and team-building skills.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours or shifts, including weekends if needed.
