The role involves maintaining and repairing equipment to support production, including initial mechanical installations, minor machine modifications, and preventative maintenance. You’ll be responsible for keeping accurate maintenance records and working towards achieving zero machine downtime. Additionally, this position includes responsibilities for facility maintenance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Experience: A minimum of five years in industrial mechanical maintenance, ideally within an automotive machining or manufacturing setting.

  • Preferred Skills: Journeyman-level experience in machine repair, toolmaking, millwrighting, or pipe fitting.

  • Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and blueprints.

  • Rebuild Skills: Competence in general machine rebuilding, including spindle rebuilds, bearing replacements, and hydraulic/pneumatic line changes.

  • Tool Room Equipment: Familiarity with operating tool room equipment such as Bridgeport mills, engine lathes, and surface grinders.

  • Component Fabrication: Ability to manufacture minor components in the tool room is preferred.

  • Lean Manufacturing Knowledge: Basic understanding of lean and/or cellular manufacturing principles is preferred.

  • CNC Systems: Knowledge of CNC control systems is a plus.

  • G-Code Programming: Familiarity with G-Code programming is advantageous.
