The purpose of the utility employee is to assist the operator in the total process of producing plastic sheet product to customer specifications and to established production and quality standards.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ability to learn, know and follow all operational/quality standard practices and procedures.

  • Physically locate raw materials in the pre-staged areas.

  • Ability to correctly identify all raw materials in both the work-in –process and the pre-staged areas.

  • Maintain accurate identification of all generated materials and containers, and the removal of the identification of the containers as they become empty.

  • Verify material codes and lot numbers.

  • Maintain adequate levels of support materials, such as but not limited to, skids, polyfilm, cores, etc.

  • Correctly and accurately tag and package finished product.

  • Mix raw materials as specified on the production orders.

  • Notify both the operator and the shift supervisor of any non-conformance in material or process and respond to their directions.

  • Maintain cleanliness of work area to ensure a safe, non-contaminated work place.

  • Able to react to change productivity and handle other essential task as assigned.

He/she will strive ensure that his/her actions and production conform to quality standards



  • Safety Glasses/Hearing Protection and steel toe shoes must be worn in the production area. Computers, Stretch Wrapper, Winders, and sheeters. Utility Knives, Trim Knives, Dryers, Brooms/Shovels Forklift and others.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.



  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
