Safety Coordinator - Manufacturing

AppleTree Staffing is seeking qualified applicants for our client’s Safety Coordinator/EHS Specialist position in the east side of Indianapolis.

Summary

Conduct safety and health activities in industrial plants or environmental sites to assess and manage environmental hazards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform risk analysis for each job task.

• Implement and adhere to OSHA and EPA regulations.

• Prepare regulatory compliance reports for OSHA and EPA.

• Identify potential hazards that could lead to injury, illness, or property damage.

• Develop and maintain safety and health programs.

• Audit and inspect machines and management systems.

• Assess the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper availability for team members.

• Coordinate and conduct Emergency Response training and drills.

• Communicate safety regulations to team members and enforce compliance.

• Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) program and review incoming chemicals.

• Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree. Equivalent related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Experience with 14001

• Experience in accident investigation, root cause analysis, safety prevention programs, and conducting safety programs/trainings
