AppleTree Staffing is accepting applications for our Packaging Supervisor positions for our client in Franklin!

The Packaging Supervisor is accountable for driving results in the packaging department through efficient resource management, safe operating procedures, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, and ensuring quality/regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure optimal efficiency of the packaging area at all times, implementing process/productivity improvements to enhance Safety, Quality, and Cost-effectiveness.

  • Provide comprehensive training to packaging area employees on equipment operation, record-keeping, communication protocols, and other necessary activities to maximize operational effectiveness.

  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to meet customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery requirements.

  • Recommend and implement measures to enhance production methods, equipment performance, safety standards, and product quality.

  • Coach, train, and motivate employees, appraising performance, providing feedback, and addressing issues promptly.

  • Oversee and review all required paperwork, reports, and documentation.

  • Develop procedures to minimize errors within the departments and organize the area for optimal processing efficiency.

  • Staff and schedule the department to achieve daily/weekly/monthly objectives and monitor employee output.

  • Create and monitor metrics to report department status to management and suggest process improvements.

  • Maintain open communication with team members and support groups to achieve operational goals effectively.

  • Review key operating metrics with the Operations Manager and Director of Operations, adjusting priorities as needed.

  • Ensure proper allocation and efficiency in work center output.

  • Monitor and address employee performance and conduct, addressing disciplinary issues as needed with Human Resources.

  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing and Materials Manager on Order Points and Order Quantities to ensure correct classification.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of 15-20 employees daily.

  • Lead by example to foster a workplace culture that engages and motivates associates.

  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong decision-making skills regarding resource utilization and needs.

  • Experience implementing Continuous Improvement tools for Packaging & OEE Performance is preferred.

  • Proficient computer skills are required.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal English.

  • Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced team environment.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervision experience.
