About the Role

The Receiving Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the receiving department. This hands-on leadership role ensures accurate, timely, and safe handling of incoming materials while fostering a collaborative team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily workflow of the receiving team, including task assignment and performance monitoring

  • Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy in quantity, quality, and specifications

  • Oversee unloading, sorting, labeling, and storage of materials

  • Ensure accurate data entry into the inventory management system

  • Communicate shipment discrepancies or damages to Purchasing and Quality Control

  • Collaborate with Production and Scheduling to keep materials flowing smoothly

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and OSHA-compliant work area

  • Train, coach, and mentor receiving staff on processes and equipment use

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed

  • Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes

  • Support continuous improvement efforts to increase accuracy and efficiency

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional coursework in logistics or supply chain preferred)

  • 3+ years of warehouse or receiving experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role

  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred

  • Proficiency with inventory systems, ERP software, and MS Office (Excel, Word)

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently; team lift up to 100 lbs

  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures (seasonal warehouse conditions)

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment
