About the Role
The Receiving Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the receiving department. This hands-on leadership role ensures accurate, timely, and safe handling of incoming materials while fostering a collaborative team culture.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily workflow of the receiving team, including task assignment and performance monitoring

Inspect and verify incoming shipments for accuracy in quantity, quality, and specifications

Oversee unloading, sorting, labeling, and storage of materials

Ensure accurate data entry into the inventory management system

Communicate shipment discrepancies or damages to Purchasing and Quality Control

Collaborate with Production and Scheduling to keep materials flowing smoothly

Maintain a safe, organized, and OSHA-compliant work area

Train, coach, and mentor receiving staff on processes and equipment use

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed

Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes

Support continuous improvement efforts to increase accuracy and efficiency
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (additional coursework in logistics or supply chain preferred)

3+ years of warehouse or receiving experience with at least 1 year in a leadership role

Manufacturing experience strongly preferred

Proficiency with inventory systems, ERP software, and MS Office (Excel, Word)

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

Lift and carry up to 50 lbs independently; team lift up to 100 lbs

Comfortable working in varying temperatures (seasonal warehouse conditions)

Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment
