Steel Loader

Great steel company is looking for Loaders to join their team! The Steel Loader is responsible for the safe and efficient loading of steel and canopy component parts onto trailers for delivery to customer job sites. This role ensures the proper handling, loading, and securing of materials in compliance with company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines to support accurate and timely deliveries.

Responsibilities: 

• Perform morning safety checks on equipment and trailers.
• Review and understand work orders and loading paperwork for accuracy.
• Calculate the weight of steel loads to ensure proper handling and load balancing.
• Conduct daily inspections of trucks, including oil and air compressor checks.
• Inspect trailers for hazards or issues before loading.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to load steel onto trailers within the Steel Department.
• Review shipping manifests to ensure that all materials are properly loaded and accounted for.
