Job Description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a traveling Superintendent position with an established flooring and general contracting company based in the San Antonio, TX area. This is a full-time position, with benefits and competitive salary. This position will direct and coordinate the activities of various trade groups on construction project site ensuring timely completion of the project.


Each General Contracting project has an independent (usually longer term) production schedule. According to the timeline established in the beginning of the project and any problems or schedule changes that occur, work hours may vary from general Monday through Friday work schedule requiring weekends hours.


Work is performed inside site locations, and outside year-round. Job sites can include excessive heat, cold, wind, rain and other weather-related aspects because they are not shielded from the weather. At times, work will be conducted on uneven terrain, at heights and/or near/over water. May be subject to cuts, bruises, or scrapes due to the nature of the work, moving of supplies and equipment utilized in project completion. Protective equipment is provided, and safety protocols must be adhered to at all times.




  • Reads, understands and interprets construction documents, drawings and specifications, Kitchen equipment cut-sheets, work schedules as they relate to building structures, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire sprinkler System, HVAC and finishes.

  • Manage in-house installation crew and subcontractors, working with client staff.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced in flooring installation including (broadloom, carpet tile, VCT, tile, etc.).

  • Develop and coordinate plans and schedules with subcontractors, suppliers and in-house employees.

  • Supervise subcontractors by communicating and directing the foremen of the various trades and craft workers.

  • Evaluates and offers recommendations regarding manpower levels, materials and purchases of tools and equipment.

  • Reviews the project at all stages of construction to determine if schedules and other customer requirements are met.

  • Completes required reports and timekeeping ensuring timely payment for construction staff and subcontractors.

  • Hold weekly safety meetings with all construction staff and subcontractors ensuring OSHA safety standards are meet at all times.

  • Verify all materials and equipment is delivered to job site in good condition and on time.

  • Ensure Quality Control of all trades.

  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions for unseen/discovered situations on the jobsite.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed ensuring timely completion of the project.



  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required; Associate's Degree (two-year college or technical school): Preferred

  • Must have experience working on AAFES projects to be considered!

  • 5 plus years of experience in construction supervision/related experience

  • 5 plus years of experience in site supervision

  • Use of CAD and Drafting skills a plus

  • High level proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word, Outlook (email) MS Project, Adobe Acrobat.

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and OSHA 30-hour certification
