Office Location - Ft Worth with travel 2 days week to projects (or client meetings) within  1-4 hrs of Ft Worth, Note some seasons we have all projects in DFW area.


Seeking a Electrical Project Manager - PROJECT CONTROLS Supervisor, to directly lead project management within the operations department. This position will be responsible for directly managing project management personnel:  a staff of (3),    and will be responsible for the successful completion of all projects and their outcomes. This is a director level position that will report directly to the President of the company. This position will work very closely with the Director of Auditing to effectively handle all day-to-day functions of the operations department with oversight from the President. This key role was created to 1.) allow the current VP of Operations to transition to the President of the company and delegate project management duties, 2.) manage all project management personnel, 3.) manage all projects and ensure they are meeting or exceeding relevant metrics, 4.) ensure all customers are satisfied with the project and willing to make a positive reference. Please note, this position will require travel, sometimes weekly, estimated at 50 percent. Lastly, we are a values-based and purpose-driven business. For this individual to be successful, values and purpose alignment will be crucial.


The ideal candidate:

•  IDEALLY Has 5 plus years of proven experience of Project Management in lighting, electrical installation(s), energy conservation, construction, or other closely related fields/ with 2 years of successful and provable experience in leading a small team

• Preferably has a PMP or similar certification

• Preferably has a strong background in the technical specifications of lighting and electrical

• Has developed a strong ability to discern project issues while conducting a punch walkthrough

• Has a strong attention to detail

• Has a strong background in general construction equipment operation and maintenance (lifts, trailers, trucks, etc.)

• Has a developed an ability to read people and situations effectively

• Has developed the ability to build meaningful relationship with customers and ensure their satisfaction

• Has innate instincts to see the challenges on every project, and be creative in designing solutions to overcome these issues

• Is obsessed with values and integrity driving their internal / external decisions


Mission - The direct responsibilities for this position shall be:

1.) Lead, manage and ensure accountabilities for all reports within the project management silo. This includes project managers, project coordinators, operations associates, etc.

2.) Directly manage all subcontractor relationships and ensure they have a high level of satisfaction.

3.)  Directly manage all projects including kick off meetings, punch walks and weekly customer meetings

4.)  Manage all on-site project details through the project coordinator.

5.)  Ensure high level of customer satisfaction where the customer is willing to make a positive reference.

6.)  Responsible for all project metrics (performance data, daily POC reports, budget, and timelines)

7.)  Manage daily project issues as they arise and coordinate creative solutions.

8.)  Work with sales to ensure they are receiving accurate information on the progress of the project.

9.)  Ensure all company equipment is being properly maintained.

10.)  Ensure that the company warehouse is being properly maintained.

11.)  Actively scouting and recruiting subcontractor labor partners

12.)  Running and owning the hiring process for employees within the project management silo

13.)  Responsible for the rebate generation process by working with utilities.

14.)  Responsible for the M&V process

15.)  Responsible for all procurement of all necessary materials in a timely fashion to execute jobs as quickly as feasible while maintaining quality/budget. This includes lighting fixtures, lamps, electrical materials, connex, roll off, lamp disposal, etc.

Outcomes - The job specific benchmarks that would need to be achieved for this individual to receive a “job well done” at the end of Y1.


Employment:

1) (Within the first 90 days) Achieve a record of handling daily issues which arise on projects thus removing the President from project details. Ie: Handle change orders, material shortages, sub-labor issues, equipment issues, etc. This will be judged at the Presidents discretion.

2) (Within the first 180 days) Successfully managed projects to completion while maintaining standards, timelines, and budgets on all projects. Must receive positive feedback from all customers regarding the entire execution of the project. You must also complete a minimum of 85 percent of projects on time and be 4 percent under budget on all projects.

3) (Within the first 180 days) Have recruited a new subcontractor labor partner

4) (Within the 1st year) Have no equipment issues due to a lack of proper maintenance

5) (Within the 1st year) Has an excellent track record of leadership, management, and accountability concerning all direct reports as measured by the company’s performance and accountability system. Have no employee turnover except for reasons mutually agreed upon with the President.
