About Us: Join our culinary adventure in Smithville, Texas, where we are searching for a Head Chef to be the "Heart of the House" in our small-town haven. Position Overview:
- Title: Head Chef (Heart of the House)
- Location: Smithville, Texas
- Work Days: WEDNESDAY – SATURDAY (4-day work week)
Responsibilities:
- Be the creative force behind our culinary offerings, blending global cuisine with small-town comfort food.
- Collaborate with owner and manager to engineer amazing menus and dining experiences. But really this is ALL YOU, we really want someone who takes charge of the kitchen and the menu
- Run the Heart of the House, emphasizing the creation of unique and memorable culinary events.
- Contribute to banquets, food-wine, and music events.
- Utilize your culinary artistry to attract visitors from Austin, Houston, and San Antonio for day-tripper excursions.
( bonus - you dont have to deal with orders or operations - we just want you to focus on the kitchen, the creativity , the food experience)
Requirements:
- Previous experience in restaurant kitchens is a must. ( but formal education not mandatory)
- Formal education is not mandatory, but a passion for culinary art and a talent for menu creation ,development and execution are essential.
- Ability to work WEDNESDAY TO SATURDAY , we are embracing a 4-day work week right now and it works ( but will open on Sundays if merited)
- Demonstrated experience in creating and engineering culinary events.
- Enthusiasm for small-town living and a desire to be part of a close-knit family.
