Shift: 5AM-5PM, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work a minimum of 50 hours per week. The schedule is flexible as long as the minimum weekly hours are being met.


Duties:


  • A CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator plays a vital role in the manufacturing process, specializing in setting up and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathes. The primary responsibilities include:

    1. Machine Setup: Prepare and set up CNC lathe machines by loading necessary tools, inputting program codes, and securing workpieces in the machine.

    2. Programming: Input and modify CNC programs to control the machining process, ensuring accurate and precise production according to engineering specifications.

    3. Tool Selection: Choose appropriate cutting tools based on job requirements, and install and adjust them as needed for efficient and high-quality machining.

    4. Quality Control: Monitor the machining process, conduct periodic inspections, and make adjustments to maintain product quality and adherence to design specifications.

    5. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to tooling, machine performance, or program errors to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.

    6. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CNC lathe machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure smooth operation.

    7. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of machine settings, tool changes, and production data. Document any issues or adjustments made during the manufacturing process.

    8. Collaboration: Work closely with production teams, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout the manufacturing process.

    9. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents promptly.

    10. Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to machining processes, tooling, or setups to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production.

  • This role requires strong technical skills, proficiency in reading blueprints, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently. CNC Lathe Set-Up Operators should also be familiar with various machining materials and possess problem-solving abilities to address unexpected challenges during the manufacturing process.
