The Material Handling Team Lead oversees the receipt, verification, and stocking of incoming materials, returns, as well as inventory control. Monitors, evaluates and maintains work flow of the material handling department

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to improve the overall work flow of the material handling department and suggest ideas for improving current policies.

  • Manage material handling, Returns and inventory control personnel hours and communicate to HR

  • Ensure that Customer orders are being filled on-time and accurately with work volume appropriately distributed throughout department

  • Drive compliance with safety, quality and productivity goals in support of warehouse leadership team objectives

  • Required to spend not less than 60% of time in the warehouse, monitoring and providing daily hands-on support for the associates

  • Work harmoniously with other departments to achieve company objectives

  • Demonstrates flexibility and is adaptive to a changing environment.

  • Communicate status of operation in a timely manner to management including any safety and/or process problems

  • Responsible for receiving (inbound and returns), incoming inspection, stocking, and record keeping of all receiving information.

  • Demonstrate absolute understanding and drive compliance with material handling activities needed to meet schedules.

  • Monitor and enforce safety standards and all rules to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

  • Compute and analyze daily, weekly and monthly production metrics and report to management

  • Handle conflicts and effectively assist in the resolution of issues.

  • Requiring a “Tour Ready” and safe work area and securing building/operations at end of shift

  • Other Duties as assigned

 

We Are Eager to Find a Candidate with the Following Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience

  • Computer skills (Excel, Power Point) required.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, proven ability to work with people, and demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Candidates may be required to pass a pre-employment background, drug and work screen.

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment

  • Ability to evaluate Material Handling department metrics and report on a monthly basis in an Operations Review Meeting.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time as a primary job responsibility

  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. intermittently during a typical work shift

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Observance to established safety guidelines in conducting physical work activity duties.

  • Frequently required to talk or hear and reach with hands and arms.

  • Vision requirement for this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
