We have an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Specialist for an outstanding property management company in the Hilton Head area.

 

Payroll Specialist:

 

Basic Function: Our Hilton Head Island Payroll Specialist reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll, e-verifying new hires, maintaining employee files, and preparing weekly billings. The person in this position must have the ability to exercises professional judgment and deliver results in dynamic work environment.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Payroll:

? Maintain all essential employee documentation, verifying and entering new hires

? Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll

? Ensure time sheets are accurate

? Prepare payroll checks for employees who do not have direct deposit

? Produce weekly payroll reports, KPI’s, etc.

? Process and monitor garnishment orders as issued

? Prepare and report state and federally payroll taxes accurately and timely

? Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns

 

Billings:

? Review and reconcile daily logs against timesheets

? Calculate piece work payments

? Input labor hours daily

? Invoice customers for manhours and services provided weekly

 

Other Duties:

? Maintain historical records and protect confidential information

? Reconcile general ledger regarding Payroll transactions

? Year-end preparation of W2s and 1099s

? Participate in month end closing and audits

? Assist with other projects as needed

 

Desired Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have a background in accounting/finance and payroll, 3-5 years of progressively responsible roles and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. He or she must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent knowledge of Excel, aptitude for numbers and exceptional commitment to accuracy. Team-player with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines, and experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Current Beaufort County residents preferred
