Landscape Operations Manager


Our Landscape Operations Manager leads a small team of experienced crew members in pursuit of superior quality service to our customers. The ideal candidate is a confident and experienced leader who enjoys maintaining and continually improving the conditions of grounds and common areas. This position is ideal for someone who has owned a small landscape business or someone who works for a large firm that is looking for more autonomy and upward mobility. A pro - active problem solver who is both approachable and tactful and possesses strong interpersonal, communication and written skills will excel in this role.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervision of landscape maintenance and installation crews

Responsible for overall look and condition of client accounts

Proactive recognition of needs of plant material / sod life cycle and health

Business development

Bidding jobs / estimating costs

Maintaining and billing crews’ hours

Scheduling and coordinating installation work

Monitoring and recognize irrigation issues and repairs

Purchasing tools and equipment

Creating and adhering to maintenance and project schedules

Communicating with clients and company executives

Assuring tools and equipment are in top shape

Managing vendor relationships


Routine Tasks:

Hands - on management of crews daily activities

Property inspections

Specifying and purchasing plant materials and chemicals


Experience / Knowledge Required:

5 years landscape management experience

3+ years experience running landscape crews

Degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Design or related

Clean driving record, drug screen and background check

Licensing or certification in chemical application, irrigation or similar

Plant identification

Landscape maintenance and installation best practices

Chemical application


Basic design




Physical Demands:

Stands, kneels, bends, pushes and walks for 50% of workday

Able to lift from 1 to 50 lbs.

Stoops, crawls, twists, reaches and manipulates equipment and power tools to complete work assignments.

Exposure to chemicals, fertilizers, fumes, gasses and loud noise levels.

Works outdoors 90% of the workday and may be required periodically to work in inclement weather.
