Mechanical | Solid Work Drafter

Description

Create Submittal drawings and Shop drawings from custom fenestration product requests using SolidWorks for Residential and Light Commercial products and practices.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• • Interpret contracts, drawings and customer supplied sketches.

  • Identify and resolve any discrepancies presented on a per job basis and report to manager.

  • Identify and interpret company’s standard finish hardware groups, non-standard finish hardware specifications and cut-sheets.

  • Create alignment drawings as requested on a per job basis.

  • Create submittal and/or shop drawing package.

  • Assist in identifying areas that could be automated to help expedite job performance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• • Able to interpret instructions both written and oral.

  • Able to work in a team with co-workers to resolve work-related issues.

  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and champion them through to completion.

  • Strong use and knowledge of Excel

  • Very high degree of thoroughness and attention to detail

  • Able to understand and execute detailed written and verbal instructions

  • Open minded and flexible with change

Education and Experience

• • High school graduate plus a technical degree/diploma in related field required or 3 plus years’ experience in a CAD field.

  • 3 plus years’ experience with SolidWorks CAD.

  • Fenestration product manufacturing/design experience required

  • Steel fabrication practices experience preferred.
