  1. Receive daily job assignments from Leader, or work orders.
  2. Analyze, lay-out and plan jobs; including obtaining diagrams, tools, parts and necessary supplies.
  3. Set up and operate machine a wide variety of conventional lathes, mills, presses and other manual machine shop equipment, to fabricate or repair parts for our operations.
  4. Operate surface grinders and Blanchard grinder.
  5. Operate machine shop equipment to achieve close tolerances, whether for creating new or modified mechanical parts, and devices.
  6. Interpret drawings and specifications to determine procedures to be used for repairs.
  7. Monitor and control feed rate and speed of cutting,
  8. Ensure workpiece is properly lubricated and/or cooled.
  9. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to check tolerances, and to ensure the finished product meets the specifications called out in sketches, blueprints, work orders or samples.
  10. Takes field measurements as requested by the supervisor.
  11. Fill out forms and reports pertaining to inspection and repair of equipment
  12. Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
  13. Builds machines, parts or equipment as required. Coordinates installation with shop and or maintenance personnel.
  14. Replace dull cutting tools.
  15. Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications.
  16. Operate cranes, lifts, and mobile equipment as required.
  17. Work cooperatively with other maintenance crews, management members, and vendors.
  18. Can be requests to act as temporary Lead Person to satisfy work load.
