About this Role!

The Temporary HIM Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic’s digital health record system and administrative tasks.

As an HIM Technician, you will:

• Digital Records Management: Import and manage digital health records in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

• Microsoft Office Proficiency: Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) for various administrative tasks, including data entry, report generation, and internal communication.

• DocuSign Administration: Send, monitor, and manage DocuSign forms to parents and clients for digital completion and signing. Ensure timely follow-up and proper filing of completed documents.

• Telecommunication Management: Handle incoming calls professionally, addressing inquiries about services, scheduling, or record requests. Record and relay messages accurately to appropriate staff.

• Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties including, but not limited to, scheduling appointments, filing, and maintaining a tidy and organized office environment.

• Must work on-site in a secure office.

What we’re looking for:

• Bilingual language skills (especially Spanish) are highly desirable.

• Experience in a mental health or pediatric setting would be an advantage.

• Basic understanding of medical terminology

About your background (Educaton/Experience):

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in health information technology or related field preferred.

• Experience in health information management or a related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EHR systems.

• Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy practices in healthcare.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

• Full Time Hourly

• Primarily located at our Palo Alto site.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

• The person in this position needs to occasionally lift, move and/or set-up stacks of documents such as training binders or other training materials, lap-top computers, in-focus projectors, flip charts and other materials required for meetings and presentations.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 lbs.

Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy practices in healthcare, Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with EHR systems.
* Compile, process, and maintain medical records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare system. Classify medical and healthcare concepts, including diagnosis, procedures, medical services, and equipment, into the healthcare industry's numerical coding system. Includes medical coders.
* Protect the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
