Essential Functions & Responsibilities

The essential functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

?    Test server components to meet our qualified testing standards.

?    Flashing of firmware on parts including motherboard, add-on cards, and storage devices.

?    Diagnose defective servers and components to discover the root cause of issues.

?    Assemble and disassemble hardware components.

?    Communicate with multiple departments.

?    Familiarity with Spreadsheets, data entry, and formulas

?    Ability to research and self-diagnose issues

?    Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and overtime if needed

Education & Experience

We have identified the following programs, experience, and knowledge that have helped others find success in this role at iXSystems. We understand though that knowledge comes from many forms of learning and experiences. ?    1-2 years of experience with hardware repair

?    Experience with assembling and disassembling computer components

?    Experience with firmware flashing of BIOS, IPMI, AOC and storage devices

?    Experience with Windows, Linux, FreeBSD or other operating systems is a plus

?    Experience with emailing and using Excel

?    A combination of professional or educational experience (whether formal or informal) that affords you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities above
