Our client, a large medical device company, seeks a MFG Engineering Technician III.



  • Performs the following functions developing, maintaining, and repairing disposable cartridge automated robotic assembly systems under cleanroom conditions

  • Works closely with engineers in the set-up, maintenance, and calibration tasks

  • Supports rework and quality testing related to the production of subassemblies and final assemblies

  • Assists with protocols and test runs as well as the investigation of process and equipment deviations and resolves variances as necessary

  • Recommends and implements corrective action and preventative action of processes and equipment in support of manufacturing

  • Assist with developing equipment operating procedures and preventative maintenance plans as requested

  • Examines components and assemblies and flags potential defects or quality issues to support failure investigations

  • Develops jigs and fixturing for use in prototyping, pilot production, and production environments which includes coordination the fabrication of tools and fixtures either in-house or utilizing outside contractors

  • Assists in the implementation Lean Manufacturing and 6 sigma techniques

  • Performs other assignments as needed



  • Knowledgeable and has an understanding of electrical and mechanical systems

  • Proficient in the use of tools and equipment commonly used in the maintenance and repair of robotic automated assembly systems

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Internet

  • Must be able to work 2nd shift (1:30pm - 10:00pm)

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics or Computer Technology or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience

  • 5 years of experience in Instrumentation, Biomedical Industries, or Consumer Electronics

  • FDA/GMP/ISO experience

  • Experience in designing and building assembly and test jigs and fixtures

  • Experience in using, supporting, and maintaining automated assembly and test systems

  • Experienced with performing assembly work: working under magnification, on components using plastic components, adhesives, adhesive dispensers, UV light sources, and fixturing, operating manual, semi-auto and automated assembly equipment, adherence to clean room practices
