EDM Machinist - Meadville, PA

SUMMARY: Operates mills, lathes, grinders, EDM machines, gauges, or any tool making task with fine tolerance levels, by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Studies blueprints and computes dimensions to determine machining needed for parts.
- Completes work accurately and within budget.
- Writes certifications on designated dimensions.
- Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances, using measuring instruments such as dial indicators, gauge blocks and micrometers.
- Possesses or obtains precision tools that are required to complete assigned tasks (reasonable industry standards apply).
- Sets ups, operates, and maintains machinery and tools.
- Maintains 5S; implements safe work behavior.
- Works overtime when asked by Tool Shop Supervisor.
- Completes accurate labor tickets daily.
SKILLS:
- Tool & Die/Machinist certification OR equivalent job experience. - Journeyman Card NOT necessary to be qualified for this position
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, blueprints, specifications, or technical procedures. Ability to complete required paperwork. Ability to communicate with internal customers and vendors in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk or sit regularly, uses hand and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
