Janitorial Worker - Meadville, PA

PAY: $15.00 - $16.00 / hr.

1st, 2ndand 3rd shifts available

SUMMARY: Performs routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks by performing the following duties.

Cleaning & Maintenance:

• Clean lunchrooms, restrooms, sweep, mop, dust, and perform various other functions
• Empties trash; sweeps, mops
• Cleans offices, restrooms, common areas, floors, other areas as required.
• Works with safety as a priority; utilizes good 5S practices.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to communicate well with others (within the Maintenance Department, as well as with other personnel).

Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, manufacture’s labels and memos. Ability to communicate daily with maintenance personnel and occasionally with external customers in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to perform basic addition, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; regularly uses arms, hands and fingers to operate cleaning tools. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands, climb, kneel, crawl or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
