Injection Mold Press & Assembly Operators - Meadville, PA


Pay: $15-16/Hour Depending on Experience. Paid Weekly


Shifts: Full-Time. All 3 Shifts available, M-F, Rotating weekends


Job Description:

  • Performs assembly and secondary operations while maintaining rates and quality product.
  • Responsible for production of one or more injection molding machines.
  • Monitors general functions of injection molding machines to detect problems with cycle operations and removal of unformed parts, etc.
  • Gages and visually inspects parts for defects; maintains quality production.
  • Reports defects and malfunctions in process, material, or quality to technical personnel, Supervisor, or Team Leader for correction.
  • Operates hand and machine tools, such as hot stamp, inserting machine, ultrasonic welder, drill press, arbor press, packaging machine, etc.
  • Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or by reading Routers and/or Work Order, work instructions, and Quality Plan for specific operation details, packaging, and quality requirements.
  • Confirm scale for part count.
  • Understands the nature of defects in products being assembled and alerts Supervisor or Team Leader of any problems with the product or process.
  • Ability to use quality control equipment.
  • Moves production as required.
  • Completes daily logs/paperwork.
  • Must pass Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) training to work in Cleanroom Environment; follows Cleanrooms rules.
  • Ask questions until job instructions are comprehended.
  • Performs repetitious operations with a positive attitude.
  • Reports scrap hourly through IQMS, prints on demand labels through Scan Id.
  • Performs scheduled cleaning task and maintains clean workspace according the 5s standards.
  • Communicates with Supervisor and Assembly Team Leader to determine safe and effective practices to improve daily tasks.


Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Ability to complete required forms. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with internal customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals to calculate production, time worked or gage tolerances.
  • Ability to comprehend and utilize common sense to complete instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand when to call for help.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk, bend or twist. The employee is regularly required to use fingers to handle, feel or manipulate objects, tools, or controls and may be required to regularly reach with arms and hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may frequently be required to lift up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities for this job require close vision to be able to see defects in parts.
