Fabrication Team Operator

Pay: $19.50/Hour
Shift: 2nd Shift" 2:30PM - 12 AM
POSITION SUMMARY: A fabrication team member may begin training in one area primarily and progress into other fabricating skills. Must possess skills such as math and reasoning ability, use of measuring equipment and blueprint reading. Will perform simple to complex shearing, piercing, notching, single and multiple bending operations, as well as parts and case welding functions. Will learn to perform all changeovers (set ups, die changes, gage adjustments & alignments). Will be responsible for quality of product assuring specifications are from blueprints. Responsible for own material handling, and when required, must be able to use pallet trucks and/or powered lift trucks. After initial training, must be able to maintain pace per required TAKT time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with Company safety objectives
- Adhere to set safety standards (PPE, guarding, etc.)
- Measure parts accurately and check that dimensions are correct according to print
- Check and understand tolerances for the operation being performed
- Perform job and maintain the required TAKT time
- Employ 5S principles daily to meet Company 5S goals.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Maintain good attendance in accordance with Company attendance policies.
- Communicate all important issues to department and production in a timely fashion.
- Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on department equipment such as power tools and lifts.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous assembly and/or manufacturing experience a plus.
- Must be willing and able to operate overhead crane.
- Must be able to lift and move heavy weight items.
- Must remain flexible regarding shift hours and responsibilities.
- Must be willing to cross-train and assist in any area of production to drive results.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Drug test required.
