CNC Machinist Entry Level
2nd and 3rd Shift Openings

Physical Requirements:
- Senses - Sight required for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus.
- Body Motion - Full range including bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, full wrist action.
- Regularly stand and use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
- Pushing and pulling is also required to maneuver heavy items into place.
- Lifting requirement – regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move 50 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses; hearing protection; approved footwear; no jewelry; long hair to be pulled back.
Responsibilities:
- Produces Machined parts by operating Conventional, Special Purpose and Numerical Control (NC/CNC) Machines and Machinist Centers.
- Read Basic Blueprints.
- Load CNC machine as required in accordance with shop orders.
- Actively observe CNC machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions.
- Report workpiece defects or machine malfunctions to appropriate personnel to resolve issues.
- Determine when CNC tooling needs changed.
- Follow and understand all work instructions, inspection requirements and verbal/written instruction.
- Conduct in-process inspections and measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of CNC machine operation using shop floor inspection tools (mics, calipers, depth mics, gage pins, etc.)
- Must satisfy Quality Assurance specifications and complete Quality Assurance logs.
- Remove burrs, and sharp edges from workpiece per work instructions.
- Understand and complete “At Machine Documentation”.
- Efficiently load and unload parts in machine fixtures.
- Learn and understand company policies.
- Learn and understand safety requirements.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Implement daily practices, which will contribute to departmental housekeeping.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Serve as an active member of the team of employees by routinely performing tasks such as: assisting in the training of employees; participating in problem solving activities; reporting workplace safety hazards; suggesting quality improvement methods, etc.
Education and or Experience Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Must pass background check and drug screen.
Lines of Authority:
- Can cease operation of a CNC machine due to safety or equipment problems.
- Can stop CNC operations for quality issue with supervisors approval.
