Maintenance Mechanic/Manufacturing
Job Type: Full Time / Direct Hire
Wage: $24 - $26/hourly
Location: Ashtabula
Provide maintenance service for all plant production equipment to meet established production requirements. The individual will also be responsible for managing repairs while utilizing internal and/or external resources and coordinating planned and preventative maintenance activities to ensure optimal results.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for maintenance of production manufacturing equipment and building maintenance. Ensures high quality and safety standards are met.
- Demonstrates expertise with the maintenance requirements of plant production and operations through a thorough and continuing evaluation of production process and procedures and facilities maintenance.
- Maintains constant contact with production and processing operators and supervision to obtain maximum machine uptime.
- Train other mechanics in the proper set-up, adjustment, and maintenance of production, and supervise them to accomplish maintenance requirements.
- Utilizing machine manuals, technical documentation and other resources to research and diagnose and solve machine issues as they arise.
- Executes preventive maintenance programs and suggests modifications to the Plant Engineer for approval.
- Recommends and initiates changes to improve equipment operating performance and performs job estimates.
- Assures that maintenance operations are carried out within established housekeeping, and applicable government regulations.
- Participates in all regular meetings as scheduled

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated ability to safely work on and around complex, highly automated machinery in a non-temperature regulated environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to other maintenance supervisors’ technicians, and operators.
- The ideal performer will be a motivated self-starter with strong troubleshooting, good interpersonal and technical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively on verbal and written levels.
- Cross-functional demonstrated skills in Electrical, PLC, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Motors, motion control, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Ability to pay close attention to details
- Able to work all shifts
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of (5) five years related, applicable experience with machine maintenance and repair.
- Solid record of safety and continuous improvement in an industrial setting.
