Senior Accountant

Immediate senior accountant needed for leading financial services firm. The client is located in Midtown Manhattan. Join a stable & rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and financial statement analysis

• Coordinate monthly consolidation process to ensure timely and accurate reporting, managing eliminations and foreign currency entries

• Ensure all journal entries and account reconciliations are accurate.

• Provide monthly variance analysis against budgets

• Perform technical research on accounting and reporting issues as required.

• Prepare supporting schedules for the Statement of Cash Flows

• Assist with the close process including month end, quarter end, and year-end

• Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis as needed

• Assist with interim and year end audit requests for external and internal audit staff

Applicant Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

• Previous experience in a Senior Accounting role preferred

• CPA license is a plus

• 4+ years of accounting industry experience; 2+ years of public accounting experience a plus

• Solid knowledge of US GAAP.

• Broad working knowledge of various accounting standards and guidelines

• Excellent Interpersonal skills

• Advanced Excel; recent Cognos or Access a plus
