JMJ's Portage office is searching for Warehouse Associates with Overhead Crane experience for our client located in Portage, Indiana!


Position Overview:
The position of the Warehouse Associate will have the primary responsibility to safely manage warehouse inventory through receiving and shipping processes and movement of product with the use of forklifts and overhead cranes. 


Starting Pay: $16.00/hour


The Ideal Candidate:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role and environment is required

  • Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, track mobile, and RF scanners

  • Previous experience working in transportation or metals warehousing industry preferred

  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • High School Diploma or equivalent



  • Operate remote overhead cranes and forklifts to safely move products.

  • Operate track mobile to maneuver rail cars in and out of the building.

  • Pull work orders.

  • Receive and ship product through inbound/outbound scan process using a handheld scanner.

  • Inspect material and make notations of any exceptions and/or damages for all shipments.

  • Organize material and inventory within the warehouse and ensuring it is stored safely and blocked properly.

  • Package steel coils and prepare them for shipment.

  • Remove debris and clean out rail cars prior to loading.

  • Remove and secure bulkheads against steel coils in rail cars.

  • Properly signal information, instructions, and warnings during operation of cranes and forklifts.

  • Perform regular and routine inspection of equipment.

  • Complete daily paperwork and record data.

  • Follow company guidelines, instructions, policies, procedures, and follow OSHA regulations in the performance of all job functions.

  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment.

  • All other duties and projects as assigned.
