Materials Specialist - $15.00 per hour
7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Mon-Fri (7:30 AM-2 PM Fri)
We are in immediate need of a Material Specialist for a locally owned business in Madison, AL!
Duties:
-
Assist with UPS shipments and parts to customers
-
Accurately track receiving of parts shipments by inspecting items and comparing count of items to purchase order and packing list
-
Collect and analyze information on stock usage; anticipate needs
-
Identify and investigate parts/equipment discrepancies
-
Enter data accurately into computer system
-
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
-
Stock parts shelves with materials that are delivered, organize shelves & maintain neatness
-
Unload deliveries using a forklift
-
Responsible for keeping company vehicle maintained
-
Help maintain KanBan levels by checking, pulling and returning KanBan Reorder cards
-
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards for department and housekeeping as needed/directed.
-
Drive company vehicle to deliver and pick up parts
-
Must me able to perform duties of fuel, weight, alignment and miles on units, possibly working on some weekends
-
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
-
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
-
High School Diploma/GED required
-
Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record; must be able to complete requirements for a DOT Certification. Failure to maintain a clean driving record and insurability on company vehicle insurance will result in termination.

Must be capable of lifting 50-60 lbs frequently. This position requires the individual to lift, reach, bend, kneel, stoop and twist to accomplish tasks.

Must be able to work occasional overtime

A minimum of three years work experience in a high-volume shipping and receiving environment is required with emphasis on accuracy, quality and reliability.

Must possess excellent organizational skills to problem solve and organize equipment/parts issues.

Must have a good attitude and be willing to help others

Must be dependable
-
Must be able to multitask
-
Should be willing to take initiative to learn the parts needed to build an emergency vehicle
-
Mechanical background and understanding of assembly equipment and tools is a plus, with ability to maintain cleanliness and order.

Forklift experience is a plus
Conditions:

Typical body shop environment (hot/cold/dusty)--- may work earlier shifts to avoid heat during the summer months.
