Quality Engineer - Pulaski, TN
Annual Compensation: $50k - $70k
We are currently in immediate need of a Quality Engineer for an auto-manufacturing facility located in Pulaski, TN!
Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain customer portal up to date
-
Main Contact with customer
-
Responsible to implement QA procedures on the shop floor, Control Plan, 1st/Last piece approval
-
Support QA Shop coordinator to implement the statistical process control and drive kaizen activity to improve characteristics
-
Coordinate the improvements and updating of control plan using core tools
-
Support reverse PFMEA (RFMEA) activities in the floor
-
Support the team with kaizen activities to improve FTQ performances
-
Responsible to organize sorting activities, internal and external containment actions and coordinate teams in case of customer complaints / yard holds and service/recall campaigns
-
Responsible for deploying customer complaints using Fast Response (QRQC) methodology and track actions till full closure.

Control the non-quality costs (scrap/warranty/sorting/customer deductions) and lead internal teams to attack issues and eliminate the costs
-
Develops all manufacturing quality related documents, testing procedures, and inspections methods for the manufacturing team and trains employees on such items.

Develops and implements methods and procedures for dispositions of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

Lead the team to eliminate external firewall activities from the plant by improving plant firewall performances

Support to implement error proofing and poka-yokes on the process with focus on scrap reduction

Develop preventive and proactive systems to reduce and eliminate sources of quality risks and potential issues

Responsible quality KPI’s:

Scrap/ Internal and external PPM /1st piece performance

Customer Deductions

Firewall performances

Customer Satisfaction
-
Responsible of Warranty and 0KM claims to closure

Requirements:
-
Ability to work in a process environment as a team player; some travel required, excellent interpersonal skills; excellent verbal communication skills; excellent work planning and work management skills; must be able to read and understand work instructions, product labels and bills of material, must demonstrated ability to use all position technical tools and technical computer software including Minitab, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Note. Strong knowledge of Quality tools used in the automotive industry (APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, Layered Audit process, IATF 16949). Ability to work independently, excellent work management skills; familiarity with mechanical drawings and technical specifications; knowledge of automotive customer specific requirements and procedures.

Engineering degree (desired Mechanical, Aerospace, Production) or Equivalent

Minimum 03 years Quality department (automotive/ aerospace industry)

Desired IATF 16949 internal auditor certifications

SAP system experience
-
Great communication skills
-
Knowledge of Six Sigma

Previous experience with Injection molding and/or Exterior Lighting

Proficiency in foreign languages
