Immediate opportunity with precision machining company on 1st shift. 3+ yrs exp programming in CATIA v5 precision machining aerospace production parts needed.
OBJECTIVE: Develops programs for fabricating parts on numerically controlled machine tools. Working from designs and specifications, determines machining requirements and prepares a mathematical definition of the part to be produced. Determines the proper speeds, feeds and types of cutters, taking into consideration the materials to be used and machine characteristics. Maximizes machine efficiency by determining optimum cutter paths. Prepares input for computer to generate actual machine control program, checks final program.
Typical Job Knowledge
• Good Manufacturing Knowledge of machining and other related processes
• Basic knowledge of SPC
• Good logic and organizational skills in order to manage simultaneous multiple tasks.
• Able to generate own geometric model suitable for use in programming.
• Use geometric models created by other programmers.
• Knowledgeable of the UNIX operating system and commands.
• Assist Manufacturing with improving processes
Education & Experience
• High School or equivalent, some college hours or equivalent in related field
• Satisfactory completion of advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) training, communication and continuous Improvement (CQI) training and demonstrated skills in shop math.
• 3-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
Hourly rate negotiable.
Contract-to-hire
