JOB TITLE:Mechanic Test Vehicle Maintenance Technician A Silver Springs company is currently seeking talented candidates for a Mechanic Test Vehicle Maintenance Technician role at our Silver Springs, NV location. Their Mechanic’s work directly with a team intent on designing, manufacturing, and testing innovative automotive mobility solutions. Position Summary: Works under the direct supervision of the Shop Supervisor. Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, automotive equipment, equipment used in the maintenance and construction of roads and courses, trucks, buses and other vehicles (both diesel and gasoline). Essential Functions: 1.Performs skilled maintenance and repair duties involving repairs to gasoline and diesel powered automotive, heavy, and light construction, other powered-driven units for ongoing tests or support, and company vehicles and equipment. 2.Inspects, diagnoses, and locates mechanical issues on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered units and dismantling assemblies to gain access to hydraulic systems, front and rear drive components, electrical systems, drive train components, chassis components, and ignition systems using proper tools and test equipment. 3.Works on a variety of equipment, including trucks, passenger cars, class 8 trucks, and military equipment with both gasoline and diesel engines. 4.Works with customers and other vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure quality work is done in all aspects while maintaining test and company vehicles and equipment. 5.Reviews maintenance records of test vehicles for accuracy and completion before submission. 6.Ensures maintenance actions performed are in accordance with test directives and applicable manuals. 7.Maintains records of maintenance actions performed on support vehicles and company fleet units as well. 8.Responds to field emergencies when necessary. 9.Relates well with employees and customers at all levels and at all times in a professional and personable manner. 10.Other duties as assigned. 11.11. Documents and photographs deficiencies and anomalies, then assists in root cause analysis. 12.12. Complete unscheduled recoveries and participate in on-call mechanic duties. Marginal Functions: 1.May assist in preparing, writing and reviewing technical manuals. 2.Assists in special projects. Minimum Qualifications: 1.High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years gas and diesel mechanic experience. 2.Able to work in excess of 40 hours per week with varied work shifts. 3.Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Commercial Driver’s License and good driving record with no more than 2 points in the past three (3) years. 4.Must be able to bring and utilize personally owned tools. 5.Must possess basic computer skills. 6.Must possess basic math skills. 7.Must be able to read and understand technical manuals and provide documentation of completed repairs, perform complete vehicle servicing 8.Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, expressing ideas clearly and actively listen to thoughts and ideas of others. 9.Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 10.Must have excellent organization and time management skills. 11.Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions. Preferred Qualifications: 1.ASE mechanic certification desired. 2.Able to operate various vehicles including but not limited to, light trucks, passenger cars, manual and automatic transmissions, class eight (8) trucks and/or tractor, various military vehicles, forklifts, welders, lathes and other fabrication and machining equipment. Physical Requirements: 1.Must be able to lift 50 pounds. 2.Performs tasks in the field in extreme temperature and/or environmental conditions.
