This position requires the use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes, among other heavy equipment. The Machine Shop operator’s 2 responsibilities also include ensuring their area is kept clean, preparing machinery and equipment for use, and performing tasks in positions they cover during absences and when needed. With minimal supervision, they strictly follow and enforce all health and safety guidelines. To be successful, they must demonstrate safe work habits, be detail oriented, have excellent time management skills, have exceptional attendance, and have strong communication skills. The Machine Shop Operator 3 must be able to perform duties in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency while maintaining individual and team safety and the highest standards of quality at all times. A great Machine Shop Operator 3 must also have a willingness to learn and improve through on-the-job training. They must be able to follow and give both written and verbal instructions and will work well alone or as part of a team. Essential Duties • Understanding and writing programs with M Code, G Code, and CNC (Hass) Mills and Lathe machines • Complete and track NCR non-conformance reports as needed. • Setting up machines. • Safety Inspection of machines • Making Machine Plates per DIS specs. Requirements • 2-4 years of Machine Shop related experience or similar, including an understanding of M Code, G Code, and CNC (Hass) Mills and Lathes machines. • High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of machine operator experience in industrial manufacturing or a related industry • Technical courses or certifications • Minimum of 2 years of machining experience required; college and/or appropriate technical courses may be substituted by 2 years additional experience
