Shipping Operator - Reno is seeking a contract shipping operator to support a 24/7/365 plastic extrusion operation. This is a contract to permanent position. At the end of the trial period the contactor will have to apply for the position and interview.  Overtime is paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40 hours in a work week. The work schedule is 6:30-3:00 M-F with varying weekend hours once a month. Responsibilities • Consistently contribute to a safe work culture. • Read pick tickets, identify products to be loaded and safely load pipe onto outbound trucks. • Safely unload inbound trucks and properly stage pipe in the yard. • Ensure the correct product is loaded on trucks, and that first in/first out method of inventory management is utilized. • Safely repackage product as necessary by cutting dunnage and reapplying banding. • Assist with yard maintenance and upkeep. • Work within a team structure to accomplish tasks. Required Qualifications • Must be able to work safely and adhere to all plant safety requirements. • Be at least 18 years of age. • High school diploma or GED – MANDATORY. • Minimum of 2 years diesel, propane forklift operation experience. • Basic math skills and be able to read a tape measure. • Detail oriented. Preferred Qualifications • 5 years of diesel, propane forklift operation experience. • Shipping and receiving experience in outdoor yard setting. Loading and unloading flatbeds and containers. • Basic computer skills, specifically the MS Office Suite. This position is a safety sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing.
