Job description

Summary:

The primary role of the Mobile Engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment and systems across multiple locations. This individual should demonstrate technical expertise in at least one core area—Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations—while being multi-skilled in others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Travel between multiple facilities to maintain operational efficiency and system functionality.
  • Take ownership of facility services including:
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Purchasing and inventory control
  • Contracted and general maintenance
  • Maintain HVAC equipment through cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and part replacement to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor equipment by recording readings and making necessary adjustments for proper operation.
  • Follow departmental protocols for the safe storage, use, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Conduct periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Oversee the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by external contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and maintain clean, hazard-free workspaces.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose and address issues in commercial/industrial MEP and HVAC systems.
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Two years of trade school training in electrical system design, refrigeration, or HVAC.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
