Assembly Specialist

 

Assembly Specialists are responsible for the assembly, testing, packaging, and shipment of our industrial technology products. Typical tasks include issuing parts from stock, assembly, testing, packing and shipping, occassionaly soldering, and any other process required to deliver timely results for our customers.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

•             High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution

•             Minimum 6 months of experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, assembly, packing and shipping, and/or customer service

•             Computer, math, and weights and measures skills a must

•             Demonstrated communication skills

•             Experience using SAP/ERP preferred, but not mandatory

•             Must have good hand and eye coordination.

•             Works under minimal supervision, duties and tasks that are frequently non-­ routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.

•             May perform more detailed tasks requiring deep knowledge and experience in the specified processes and procedures.

•             Must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which, govern the handing of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment.

 

Responsibilities:

•             Perform inspection of purchased parts, materials, components, and equipment.

•             Determine and execute the methods, sequences, and procedures necessary for work completion.

•             Follow written and verbal instructions during the production process.

•             Work from engineering drawings, sketches, data sheets, specifications, and the computer.

•             Safely operate a variety of machines.

•             Manufactures or refurbishes product to high quality standards utilizing hand tools, fixtures, and fastening, equipment.

•             Operates adjusts minor equipment, or a station on an automated operation.

•             Perform basic trouble-shooting and preventative maintenance on machines to ensure continued production quality.

•             Pack and ship finished products.

•             Process transactions in our SAP/ERP software.

•             Produces and inspects labeling.

•             Determine the appropriate course of action to effectively execute on the processes required.

•             Work effectively in a team environment.

•             Actively participates in group meetings and training.

•             Provides manufacturing team ideas for process and product improvements.

•             Seeks cross-training opportunities.

 

Assembly Specialists must be able to:

  • Ascend and descend mobile steps and ladders.
  • Lift, carry, and otherwise move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Work in a standing or seated postion depending on the tasks of the day.
  • Operate material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jack)
  • Operate simple hand tools to include but not limited to screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers.
