We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving automated systems and machinery to optimize performance and ensure continuous and efficient production operations. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, implementing preventive maintenance strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance process automation. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ¾ Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automated systems, machinery, and equipment. ¾ Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to minimize downtime. ¾ Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. ¾ Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency. ¾ Modify, update, and optimize PLC programs and HMI configurations. ¾ Assist in upgrading and retrofitting existing equipment and systems with automation technology. ¾ Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades. ¾ Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements. ¾ Develop and update technical documentation, including preventive maintenance procedures and troubleshooting guides. ¾ Provide technical support and training to operations staff on automated equipment and systems. ¾ Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for equipment usage and maintenance. ¾ Keep safety awareness high and ensure that all employees are aware that safety is American Highway’s number one priority ¾ Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: ¾ Excellent communication, leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. ¾ Proven experience in automation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment and systems. ¾ Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems. ¾ Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. ¾ Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. ¾ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. ¾ Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. ¾ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize ¾ Must be a self-starter and driven ¾ Ability to recognize and solve moderate to complex problems independently ¾ Good computer skills and experience with MS Office Suite products ¾ Record of good attendance and punctuality Education and Experience: ¾ Certification in Industrial Automation or a related discipline preferred ¾ Experience with robotics and motion control systems. ¾ Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and IoT integration. ¾ Minimum 1 year proven experience in similar roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment. ¾ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software/tools. ¾ Must be a self-starter and driven with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy Essential Functions: ¾ Physical ¾ Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb ladders and/or equipment. ¾ Maximum unassisted lift – 25 lbs. Work Environment ¾ Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, forklifts, and overhead cranes. ¾ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and requires hearing protection at all times. ¾ Hard hats, safety shoes, gloves and eye protection are also always required. ¾ Temperature environment 0 degrees to 110 degrees.
