Field Assessment Technician

Job Summary:
 Washoe County is seeking a detail-oriented and physically capable individual to support a school zone safety improvement initiative. This temporary position will perform field data collection and condition assessments related to traffic signs and pavement markings using mobile devices and mapping tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct field assessments of signs and signposts in school zones
• Identify and document outdated or damaged signpost types
• Update and assess pavement markings and striping within school zones
• Record data using mobile collection tools and GIS applications

Required Qualifications:

• Experience using tablets and smartphones for data entry
• Basic understanding of maps and navigation
• Ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods
• Attention to detail and reliability in field documentation

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with ArcGIS Field Maps or ArcGIS Pro
• General knowledge of GIS and asset inventory
• Experience in field assessment or inspection roles
