Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our industrial maintenance team. This entry-level position offers significant growth potential for individuals interested in advancing their career in equipment and building maintenance. You will work in a fast-paced environment, performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on industrial equipment and facility systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute work orders generated by the Preventive Maintenance program and as directed by supervision.
- Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs on equipment and building systems.
- Carry out routine preventive maintenance on plant facilities and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required service.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, and material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations.
- Identify and resolve safety issues promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate with outside vendors to obtain quotes and maintain inventory of repair materials and consumables.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Demonstrate a proactive, team-oriented attitude—“that’s not my job” is discouraged.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs.
Qualifications
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills.
- HVAC experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and manuals.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs periodically.
- Frequent reaching, climbing, and working in various physical positions.
- Must wear appropriate PPE including gloves, eye protection, welding leathers, face shield, and steel-toe footwear.
Work Environment
- Exposure to seasonal temperature variations (0°F to 110°F).
- Hot conditions near welding and industrial equipment.
- Presence of smoke, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
- Moderate to loud noise levels; hearing protection may be required.
