Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, load, and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner. Your attention to detail and ability to navigate tight spaces will be critical as you transport goods within our warehouse or production facility. The ideal candidate for this position must possess a valid forklift operator certification and have a strong understanding of safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate the sit down forklift to safely and efficiently move materials within the warehouse or production area.
2. Load and unload materials from trucks, shelves, or storage areas using the forklift.
3. Ensure accurate and timely movement of materials to designated locations.
4. Inspect and maintain the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition.
5. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
6. Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to material movement and inventory control.
7. Collaborate with warehouse and production team members to fulfill material requests and maintain efficient operations.
8. Organize and maintain inventory in a neat and orderly manner to facilitate easy retrieval of materials.
9. Conduct routine inspections of the forklift and report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor.
10. Assist in other duties as assigned, including general warehouse cleanup and organization.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid forklift operator certification.
3. Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or production environment.
4. Strong knowledge of safety protocols and ability to follow guidelines.
5. Ability to lift and move heavy materials using the forklift.
6. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
7. Attention to detail and ability to accurately track inventory.
8. Good communication skills to collaborate with team members.
9. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
10. Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
