We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience operating cranes in the field. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment in geotechnical construction projects. Your expertise in operating cranes, knowledge of safety protocols, and ability to work effectively in a team environment will contribute to the successful completion of our projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate cranes and other heavy machinery to lift, move, and position materials and equipment in accordance with project requirements.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Rig loads and attach lifting devices to crane hooks, ensuring proper balance and load capacity.
  • Operate cranes to lift and lower loads, following signal instructions from spotters or other team members.
  • Determine load weights, calculate load capacities, and ensure safe lifting operations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
  • Inspect rigging gear and lifting accessories for integrity and safety before use.
  • Collaborate with ground crew and other operators to ensure efficient workflow and safe working conditions on the job site.
  • Monitor and assess ground conditions and crane stability during lifting operations to identify potential hazards or unstable areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as greasing, fueling, and cleaning, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or incidents to the supervisor or maintenance personnel immediately.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and load details.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and requirements, including traffic and safety rules, environmental regulations, and permits.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks.
  • Assist with other construction-related tasks as directed by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience operating cranes in the field.
  • Lattice Boom Crawler Carne (LBC) or Lattice Boom Cranes ( LAT) if renewing LBC has been done after January 2023, new NCCCO regulations
  • Valid crane operator's license or certification.
  • Proven experience operating various types and sizes of cranes, including proficiency in using different crane controls and lifting devices.
  • Strong understanding of safe crane operation practices and rigging techniques.
  • Solid knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing project needs.
  • Physical stamina and endurance to perform tasks in various weather conditions and work environments.
  • Effective communication skills to follow instructions and collaborate with team members.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in operating equipment and completing tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must have a TWIC card
