The Submittal Technician is responsible for efficient and accurate control and data management of project documents and construction related documents. Assists and supports project management and operations team with the processing of all required submittals for various projects.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

o Organize correspondence via approved, new, and revisions to be addressed

o Creates and updates files for submittals project.

o Reads and understand architectural plans to incorporate information into the submittals production

o Remains in contact with office leadership to provide updates on project timeline.

o Serves as a resource for others in the department at times to fulfill their assignments, develop, and improve services.

o Processes one or more document types through all procedural steps with well-defined procedures and guidelines

o Receives tasks and monitors all documents, maintain databases, produce logs, as required

o Reviews, processes, initiates and replies to routine incoming and outgoing correspondence related to the area of responsibility

o Maintains the subcontractor submittal files consisting of shop drawings, samples, product data, that the subcontractor submits for approval

o File and maintain written records along with creating electronic copies for records

o Exercises initiative or, as directed, performs additional duties to meet the needs of the organization Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additional Qualifications

o Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (required)

o Ability to read and understand architectural documents (required)

o Demonstrates self-motivation, maturity, and interpersonal skills

o Demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt to an ever-changing industry

o Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing

o Strong working knowledge of basic office equipment

o Highly organized

o Knowledge of CAD (preferred, but not required) Education


Education

o High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)


Experience

o Six months to one year or more of related work experience
