MEMCO SER is currently in need of General Laborers in the Houston area!
Specialize in the following areas as well operations in a full-service erosion control division
· Greenroofs
· Stormwater Management
· Growing Medium
· Componentry
· Maintenance
· Full-service erosion control
This is a General Labor position with multiple job duties essential to daily operations in the erosion control division.
Responsibilities Include:
- Complete the physical installation of silt fence, inlet protections, slope matting, and other erosion control services on - both residential and commercial sites
- Take direction from the Crew Leader to complete work as assigned in the most efficient manner
- Utilize vehicles, hand tools, and some equipment to complete your work each day
- Go over the daily work schedule with the Crew Leader each morning
- Assist with loading trucks with proper installation materials each morning
- Complete all erosion control work to a high standard of excellence and quality
- Follow all safety protocols pertaining to vehicles, equipment, or site conduct as instructed
- Communicate effectively with operations managers and fellow crew members
- Achieve daily and weekly goals for your crew’s silt fence installation output
- Ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are taken care of and inspected properly
- Relay important information, incident reports, or concerns utilizing the proper chain of command
Qualifications & Standards:
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) Required
- Ability to listen well and follow directions
- Strong problem solving and communication skills working as part of a team
- A commitment to customer service and ability to represent oneself in a professional manner
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Physically fit and able to work long days outside in the elements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic ability to read and write legibly
- High character, honesty and integrity essential
- Must be able to work independently and with minimal direct supervision at times
- Ability to consistently utilize good judgement and make sound decisions
- Ability to take initiative and proactively seek continued performance improvement
- Experience working with tools and equipment specific to erosion control installations (preferred)
- Must have a reliable cell phone
