We are seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our customers team as a Shop Assistant. As a Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in the warehouse and shop area. The shop assistant will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on machines. Experience changing oil, filters, inspecting and replacing worn parts is desired. The candidate must have strong mechanical skills and the ability to follow basic instructions.
Duties:
- Basic care and maintenance on equipment
- Perform repairs and replace parts
- Operate a forklift to move materials and products within the shop
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking materials
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with power tools and hand tools
- Familiarity with basic mechanical concepts
- Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good physical stamina, as the role may involve lifting heavy objects (50lbs)
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
