Submittal Drafter Job Overview:

We are seeking an entry level Submittal’s Drafter to join our team. As a Submittal’s Drafter, you will be responsible for creating detailed submittal packets using multiple software including computer-aided design (CAD) software, Microsoft Excel, and others. Your knowledge of how to accurately read architectural drawings will aid in your ability to produce accurate and high-quality submittal drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Create detailed elevation drawings based on information (architectural plans, elevations, correspondence, etc.) provided by the clients.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to develop 2D elevations and details.
  • Collaborate with the clients to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the submittals packet.
  • Incorporate product knowledge into drawings to ensure functionality and adherence to company standards.
  • Apply dimensioning principles to ensure proper function of product.
  • Review and revise drawing as necessary based on feedback from clients.
  • Generate spreadsheet for door frame system incorporating info for each opening within the project.
  • Collaborate with the other team members to meet project standards and deadlines.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation of drawing, excel, and any other info relating to the project.

Qualifications

  • Basic to Intermediate Knowledge of AutoCAD (required) 
  • basic to intermediate Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (required)
  • Ability to read and navigate architectural drawings (required)
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, maturity, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt to an ever-changing industry.
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong working knowledge of basic office equipment
  • Highly organized
  • Preferably, six months to one year or more of related work experience

Education Level

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) minimum
