The Field Engineer will operate independently and with strong organization to oversee activities across multiple projects. This pivotal role involves delivering technical support to Project Engineers, Managers, and department heads, ensuring construction progresses on schedule and is efficiently managed. The position involves substantial fieldwork alongside office responsibilities, with occasional intercity travel required.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field
  • Additional qualifications and certifications in management, scheduling, and quality control are beneficial
  • Proficient in English and Spanish

 

Special Knowledge, Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project) and relevant software
  • Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a focus on meeting deadlines
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
  • Skilled in requirements analysis, project management, process improvement, documentation, safety management, CAD, drawings, and design

 

Experience: Preferred 1-3 years of relevant experience

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver correspondence, reports, and presentations for Project Managers
  • Maintain control of project documentation, updating records and reports as necessary
  • Manage and track Requests for Information (RFIs) from the field to the engineer of record
  • Assist in developing and distributing project schedules
  • Submit subcontractor submittals for approval and maintain project records
  • Support in developing cost estimates and monitoring project progress
  • Assist with project change-order management and negotiation
  • Coordinate with Project Leads and other staff members
  • Document weekly project owner’s meetings and site progress meetings
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation throughout projects
  • Assist with site safety coordination, surveys, and related tasks as required
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Support project closeout activities and assist Project Managers with assigned tasks
