Asphalt / Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Superintendent (5–10 Years of Experience)

Location: Kenedy County, TX (Highway Project along I-69E)

Travel: May be required to South Texas and/or Houston

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt / Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) Superintendent to lead paving operations on a major highway infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day paving activities, ensuring timely, safe, and high-quality execution in alignment with project specifications and TXDOT standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all phases of hot mix paving operations including crew scheduling, equipment coordination, and material deliveries
• Collaborate closely with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project continuity and efficiency
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and TXDOT paving specifications
• Track daily progress, address on-site challenges, and maintain production reports
• Provide leadership, training, and oversight to field crews to drive quality performance and team productivity

Qualifications:

• 5–10 years of proven experience supervising asphalt paving projects
• Deep understanding of paving equipment, techniques, and TXDOT requirements
• Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to manage field personnel and stakeholders
• Willingness to travel and oversee field operations in remote project areas

Requirements:

• Clean background and ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Valid driver’s license
• Comprehensive knowledge of hot mix paving operations and best practices
